Freebird Catamarans?

Freebird Sailing was founded in 1994, specialising in cruises aboard a 30-seater catamaran. Now the largest catamaran service in the Canary Islands, offering trips on 3 catamarans.

But are they the best choice for your catamaran trip?

First you should thoroughly check prices, food options and the number of people onboard. Freebird has a good reputation with 4 stars out of 5. There are others with 5 out of 5 so look at the small niggles on Freebirds reviews.

The most common irritation seems to be value for money especially with food.

  • We were told that the trip catered for vegetarians which was a complete lie. The only dish served was meatballs and rice, with the veggie option being just rice. Not paella rice. Not egg fried rice. Just boiled rice, a bread roll and a banana.
  • You can rent a sunbed for 10 euros which we did very comfortable. Please bring your own food as they only offer a small bread roll each with cheese and ham. Free soft drinks, beer and water during trip though.
  • Far to many people on board not enough sun lounger and the ones on board you had to pay extra for but only if you were there early enough to bag one , food absolutely terrible considering the price paid per ticket

Friendly staff greeted us and took our orders. The Milkshake was very refreshing, a good serving and was nice experience. The restaurant itself was very busy in the evening so we struggled to find a table. As well, the sauce bucket had a mini pair of scissors ! It was a comedic and functional touch. Food wait was good with the knowledge that they were very busy. The deep fried scampi was not overcooked at all, and was v almost juicy in my mouth but not in any way sludgy. The steak with the chef’s special paté looked succulent and plated nicely. The restaurant also had multiple TVs, which played English news channels. They also play live sport some days. A good family friendly restaurant!

  1. Inspection Request
    When you arrive at your Applus+ Iteuve station, you must go to the offices with the vehicle documentation, where our staff will be happy to assist you in your vehicle inspection.
  2. Polluting Emissions
    We will measure pollutant emission levels, as well as noise in the case of motorcycles and mopeds to ensure that the established limits are not exceeded.
  3. Outside
    We check that the windshield wipers and washers work correctly, and the condition of the doors and their mechanisms guarantee their opening and closing. It is also checked that the glasses are appropriately approved and without breaks that affect the visual field, and that the number of rear-view mirrors are necessary and are in good condition and their fixings are optimal.
  4. Inside
    We check that the seats are appropriate and perfectly anchored to the body, and have the regulatory seat belts with special attention to their operation and fixing and anchoring systems and, if child restraint systems are fitted, they are appropriate.
  5. Lighting and signaling
    The regloscope will allow us to review the state of conservation and adjustment of the vehicle’s lights to allow safe night driving.
  6. Suspension
    Using the suspension bench we will check the effectiveness, condition and balance of the suspensions with the vehicle running.
  7. Brakes and Steering
    Using the phenometer we will check the balance of the brakes.
  8. Clearance detector plates
    We will simulate the movements of the vehicle while stationary. This way we can check the level of wear in systems such as suspension, steering or braking.
  9. Pit Inspection
    The pit allows us to inspect your vehicle’s axles, frame, brakes, steering and suspension in detail.
  10. End of inspection
    Once the inspection is completed, we will discuss the results with you. If it has been a success, you will be given the report and the MOT sticker. If there are serious or very serious defects, we will tell you what they are, what repairs are necessary and when you should return.

Not everyone has the time to book a course without first getting a taste of scuba diving. We offer try diving programs for non-certified divers. You will be under our guidance and follow the highest of safety standards.

The difference between these experience programs and a PADI Diving Course is that, after completion, you do not receive a diving license, but you can repeat the programs as many times you want, and will always be accompanied by a PADI Professional. Finding the right boarding kennel

How to choose the right boarding kennel for your dog? Many owners are afraid to leave their dog in a kennel. Of course a stay in a kennel is a change for the dog and initially you may worry that your dog won’t feel at home. But if you choose the right kennel for your dog, after the first days of conditioning they will have fun and have the idea that they are “on vacation”.

How long does the dog to settle in the kennel ? It is very difficult to generalize. Some dogs are comfortable from day one and others take longer. Perhaps the first day they don’t much want to eat or play. However, if the kennel is good they  very rapidly accustomed to the daily routine, the lunch, the play, cleaning, etc.

It is a good idea to visit the kennel where you think you may board your dog at least once before taking the final decision. This will let you know the people who work with the dogs, facilities that they have at the kennel, its operation and the level of hygiene, etc.

If you remain convinced that you made a good choice, you will feel more relaxed when you leave your dog.  Just remember, Tenerife is not a big island, even North Tenerife to South Tenerife is quite a manageable distance to find the right kennel.

Since moving to Tenerife, I have tried 5 different internet providers.  Quite honestly, a good mobile service gives you some pretty neat alternative choices for your internet providers.

This is my personal opinion of them but good or bad, the contact details are listed below.

Find the right internet provider

Thor Telecom I will not recommend because they owe me over €200 for a parking fine from when they rented my car.  Dating back to 23rd March before they returned the car without notice, not even having the courtesy of telling me, let alone paying it, I have contacted them several times but despite promises, it remains unpaid.

Throstur Ingvar Steinthorsson no longer replies to my messages.  I leave it to you as to whether you want to trust a company that behaves like this.

My name is Carla Jane Bannister, 21 years of age, resident of Spain for the last 14 years.

This account is to raise funds for my little brother, Aaron Tyler Bannister. He’s only 11 years old and suffers from a terminal disease, without cure, called muscular dystrophy. In particular, Duchennes (DMD).

He was diagnosed in October 2010, after begging assistance for 3 years, since we noticed that something was not right when he began to crawl and walk.

He couldn’t run as fast as other children, jump as high, climb stairs as easily.

When we first complained, when he was about 2 years of age, doctors investigated and determined that he had flat feet. Something that, over the years, would prove to be an incorrect diagnosis.

This disease is caused by the lack of dystrophin in the muscles, which causes the progressive deterioration of these, starting with the legs.

This genetic disease only affects 1 in every 3,400 children, being males the ones to suffer the symptons. Girls/women, if they carry the disease, would have a 50% chance on passing it to their newborn, if male.

Men who suffer from this disease, begin an undetermined fight, since there is no cure, from the first symptoms, these being weakness in the legs and visible “growth” in the calf muscles (this “growth” being the muscle starting to deteriorate).

“Some years ago this restaurant was the Aries Irish Bar that I’d used many times and was disappointed when it was a victim of the pandemic. However on our visit last year we were pleased with its replacement, albeit very different, and had a great meal. Our return this year to Tenerife allowed us to revisit Christie’s and I’m so glad we did. It’s an outstanding restaurant and worthwhile finding it as it’s a little off the ‘beaten track’. Pride in its cooking skills is obvious with the open plan kitchen as is the menu that is not oversized and has a selection of ingredients that can be maintained as always fresh. We shared the (very) garlic prawns as a starter; great!! My main was a simple chicken pasta dish with tomatoes, peppers and onions, it was a treat. The lady had Hake in leek sauce, again well cooked with a subtle sauce. The fish is covered with the sauce but can be served on the side. My only disappointment is the lack of vegetables available with the fish, but that’s not a massive issue. The house white is good as is the Dorada arriving in an iced glass. We loved the night and I recommend it strongly.”

What exactly is a “Boletin”?

A boletin is an electrical installation certificate for low voltage, or “Certificado de Instalación Eléctrica de baja tension”, most commonly referred to simply as a “boletin”. Your electrician should be able to tell you when and if you require a new boletin.

For properties built after 2002 a boletin can usually be issued without the need for any upgrade to the electrical installation. For properties built before 2002 work is usually required to bring the electrical installation up to the current standard of the Spanish electrical regulations.
