There are several grape varieties that are unique to Tenerife. Wines made with the Malvasía grape were very popular in Europe in the 16th and 17th centuries and there are numerous references to Canarian wines, for example, Shakespeare mentions them in many of his plays.

Wine tasting, usually accompanied by lunch or tapas, is offered at many of the local wineries.
Bodegas Monje
A family-run winery located in El Sauzal in the northern part of the island. The Monje family have been cultivating grapevines for five generations. The winery specialises in red wines made from Listán Negro and Negramoll grapes.
Bodega Reveron
A winery located in Vilaflor, South Tenerife,about 20 minutes drive from the airport. Both red and white wines are produced there. Varieties include Listán Blanco for the whites and Listán Negro, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds.
Casa del Vino
A rustic farmhouse in El Sauzal with a wine museum where you can learn about the history of winemaking in Tenerife. Daily wine tastings are quite cheap and offered daily. They have a restaurant with a terrace with incredible views where tapas or dinner is served.
A Guachinche is a typical Canarian restaurant that sells home-grown wine and traditional Canarian food. Tour operators offer many different types of wine trips so have a good look around for the trip or tour that appeals to you. Check carefully to ensure they include a pickup from your hotel and if the return transport is included. It’s often cheaper to make your own way to a winery but here are some sample prices.

The range of Canary Island cheeses is vast. Each of the seven islands has its particular variety. The most outstanding examples are the Majorero Cheeses from Fuerteventura.
The cheese made in Tenerife is usually prepared from goat’s milk, although sometimes it is mixed with sheep or cow’s milk. Usually a fresh cheese but we can also find the smoked varieties.
Manchego is identifiable by the zigzag pattern that is etched into its rind. In Spain, this goat’s milk cheese is washed in red wine during the aging process giving the rind a deep burgundy color, flowery aroma and buttery flavor. This is known as Drunken Goat.

Adventure Hunt Los Abrigos has been expanded to 18 clues! It’s a compact route, around 1km, with plenty of bars and restaurants to take a break at when it’s hot.
Costa Adeje
The Costa Adeje Adventure Hunt takes in the boardwalks and areas around the waterfront from Playa El Bobo to Playa Fanabe. The amazing views in this area make a great backdrop to our Costa Adeje Adventure Hunt.
You can choose between the standard route with 21 clues spread over 2.6km or the extended route with 35 clues spread over 4.5km. You should allow 1-2 hours for the standard route or 2-3 hours for the extended route.
A family route is also available suitable for children aged 8-12 when accompanied by one or more adults. The clues are a little less cryptic in the family Adventure Hunt and the hints are a little more helpful.
El Medano
The El Medano Adventure Hunt takes in the popular areas of El Medano, taking you past many of the popular restaurants and viewing points in the town. The amazing views of Montaña Roja and the El Medano bay make a great backdrop to our El Medano Adventure Hunt.

Whilst we are happy and encourage you to visit, meet the horses and see our project, please remember that we WORK. We don’t currently have volunteers, so everything that needs doing is done by me. On top of the everyday chores involved in caring for the animals, we have regular jobs to help finance this project.
I (Emm) work from home, so I am around almost all of the time (with the exception of essential errands).

Tenerife Horse Rescue Sustainable Animal Sanctuary
Open every day to give tours around the finca, meet the animals, volunteers and see the work in action. However please remember that our sanctuary is 100% run on volunteers so you must be flexible.
Our opening hours are 9:00 – 2:30 every day. Via appointment.
Unfortunately we need money, we can’t pretend otherwise. We need money and we need a lot of money. On average we need more than 3500€ a month just to survive, this is without growing the sanctuary. This is mainly for horse feed which is on average 110€ a month per horse and we currently have over 20. You can do the maths. This is food alone and does not include vet bills and other animals.

Rescue dogs have so much to give in return for a loving and safe home. They make great family pets and faithful companions. However, we know many people would love to adopt a dog but, for many different reasons, it isn’t practical to have a pet. The staff friendly and the drink prices were reasonable
But, the one thing that made st Eugene’s was its compare Paul Price.
He is one of the best ad libers I have seen he made our evenings I think we went in to see him as much as the acts

We were in Tenerife 3 nights, and EVERY night we ate here. I have never had such delicious fish in my entire life. The daily caught grouper was beyond delicious, as were the fresh mixed salad, calamari, salted potatoes, even the bread rolls and mojos were fantastic.
The staff was excellent, and always made the room for us, with a stunning view of the marina to watch the night fall and people pass by below. The gentleman who seemed to be the manager was always so kind to us and helpful in navigating our selections. They have an extensive local wine menu. This restaurant fed our bellies and souls. Highly recommended.
Visit our restaurant to enjoy a great lunch with a magnificent view to Los Abrigos Harbour, where we offer tasty dishes and fish from our land and sea. We are proud to have served our Canary product to the King himself.

This 2 bedroom traditional property has a large private garden, BBQ, hot tub, own entrance & parking near San Miguel de Abona.
If you want a real Canarian experience, yet with all the comforts of home, plus your own hot tub, come and stay in our pretty rural authentic Canarian house on one level built from traditional stone dating approximately from 1890 on the outskirts of the lovely old town of San Miguel de Abona in south Tenerife, 550 metres above sea level.
The house, which sleeps a maximum of 3 people, is comfortably furnished in a rustic style with character wooden beamed ceilings and cool whitewashed walls. Its spacious layout offers 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 single), newly renovated shower room with rainfall shower head, lounge/dining room and a separate fully equipped kitchen with a quirky cave like feel leading from a central hallway. The house has all the home comforts you need.
Outside, our guests are able to enjoy their own enclosed private south facing garden which is on 3 levels. The top level has a table and 4 chairs with an umbrella plus a rustic style BBQ for alfresco dining and on the middle level are sun loungers and umbrella.
This area is a real sun trap! On the lower level we have created a relaxing chillout area with seating and a corner pergola incorporating a misting system, perfect for cooling off in hot weather. We’ve recently also put in a patio heater so you’ll be able to sit out on not quite so warm evenings too.
There is also a hot tub for our guests’ sole use which we’re sure you’ll especially enjoy at night under the stars with a glass of something chilled by your side! The garden offers pleasant views to the sea, surrounding countryside and mountains. Guests have their own separate entrance so are able to come and go as they please plus free parking directly outside the property.
Ideally suited to couples and is perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday away from the tourist resorts as this is a quiet rural residential area. It’s a great get-away-from-it-all honeymoon destination too. Relax on your sun lounger during the day and when the sun goes down, enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine in the chill out area before savouring a romantic BBQ in the garden or take a stroll up to the village to sample traditional Canarian cuisine or tapas in the local restaurants, cafés and bars. End your day with a relaxing dip in the hot tub under the stars …
For homeworkers, there’s fast free WiFi plus plenty of space to work in. For those who need it, there can be 2 separate workspaces (one in the lounge/dining room plus one in the 2nd bedroom) with access to power sources and good natural lighting. Or set your laptop up in the garden, even better! Switch on the coffee machine and you’re good to go …
This isn’t a modern villa, but a charming old character property built in 1890. A heater can be provided in cold weather or a fan in summer for an extra fee. Although there are 2 bedrooms, we can only accommodate 3 people as there is only wardrobe space in the single room.
Guests have the complete house and garden for themselves. No communal spaces to share with other guests or the owners
High Season: July, August, Christmas, New Year
Price for the property per night is 75 euros based on 2 adults outside high season.

South African born singer/songwriter who now lives and performs in Canary Islands Spain.
He has been in the entertainment industry for over three decades. All of his current songs are a collaboration with a Swedish co- writer, a South African co-producer who lives in Prague in the Czech Republic and an Italian producer.
He believes that music could be used to spread positive vibes and love. So pump up the volume and raise your vibe.

Customer Review: Fabulous pub / restaurant with a brilliant atmosphere. The place was buzzing both nights that we went. The friendly staff & great banter from the public created a very nice family atmosphere. The evenings Sonny comes on and does the karaoke, he creates a brilliant atmosphere with his one liners and has a great way of gelling everyone together. Been a long time I laughed so much, In between karaoke there is a break where an act comes on, the Robbie Williams is a must see with his sharp humour has the place really coming together & does sarcasm brilliantly 😂 Wish we found this place sooner as it was just down the road from our hotel. Thanks for 2 great night Sonny & staff and will definitely be back.
